ProjectWorld Race Template

Race Template

ProjectWorld uses the term "race" to denote any kind of sentient species. Some could be closely related to one another, or even the same species, or entirely different species derived from entirely different ancestors. So it's not a technical term, but it suits this particular fantasy world. Note that none of the templates thus far include magic. There's going to be a separate magic template that can be applied to specific races, creatures, plants and so on.

So, here's the tough part of creating a civilization. In some fantasy worlds, whole species are considered evil. This isn't the case in ProjectWorld. We don't have Drow or High Elves, which are considered inherently evil. We have cultures, instead. Cultures can't really be inherently evil. So, try to avoid being too black and white, ProjectWorlders. ;)

The Continent Template is a bit more tricky. There are only about four continents, so we can't have limitless submissions--at least, not until more than one world is at our disposal. Islands may also be submitted with this template, and they aren't as limited... given that they don't take up as much area as a continent. Expect to write much for the continents and to do a bit of research.

So you want to create flora for ProjectWorld? This extends to fungi, too, even if they aren't technically plants. They act like plants, so we'll include them in the "flora" category. Otherwise, anything goes. Succulents, shrubs, conifers, you name it, it can go here. As long as you make it sound convincing. Trees that produce dollar bills are a no go, for instance.

So you want to create fauna for ProjectWorld? Pretty much anything goes, as long as it conforms to a fantasy setting. Lizards, amphibians, underwater mammals, you name it, it can go here. As long as you make it sound convincing. Don't make up an animal that is bubble-gum pink.

1. Realize what you like, and write it down. Really, its as simple as that. All you have to do is, when you go "hey, I like this movie/show/book" break down as to why you like it and write it down. Even if you just like one scene in a movie, write it down; that way if you are ever stuck, just read the list over for inspiration. Here are a few examples:
